Access Paths to Hosted Services

GEN Operate a number of hosting clusters over a range of operating systems, each with a different method of access and features. This article servers as a quick reference for access and capabilities.
To determine which cluster hosts your site/SaaS/WebService lookup its CNAME record. Individual servers within the cluster will be indicated by a preceding digit.
ANDROMEDA (andromeda.gen.net.uk)
Microsoft Server Platform, Hosting IIS Websites only. Access is via FTP to andromeda.gen.net.uk, using your login credentials provided at sign-up. FTP Root is the root of the site. Localised Data Services.
VOYAGER (Voyager.gen.net.uk)
Microsoft Server Platform, IIS8+, Advanced and Dedicated Hosting. Access is via SAS_NFS only. External Data Services via ANDROMEDA and EXCELCIOR.
DAKOTA (dakota.gen.net.uk)
Linux Server Platform, Apache & PHP. Access is via SFTP, SSHFTP, FTPS, RSYNC and via the hosting console available at
https://dakota.gen.net.uk:10000
Local Data Services.
FARPOINT (farpoint.gen.net.uk)
Linux Server Platform, Apache & Nginx, PHP. Access is via SFTP using the credentials provided at sign-up to farpoint1.gen.net.uk (remember the 1). You will need to have previously enrolled your IP before access. FTP Root is not your site root and is not writeable. cd into your desired site before upload/download. Local Data Services.
DAUNTLESS (dauntless.gen.net.uk)
Advanced Linux Server Platform, Apache, Nginx and Tomcat. Access is via SAS_NFS only. External Data Services via ENTERPRISE.
RELIANCE (reliance.gen.net.uk)
Linux based Server Platform, Nginx and Lightspeed, Access is via SAS_NFS only. External Data Services via FARPOINT and ENTERPRISE.
VALIANT (valiant.gen.net.uk)
Linux Based Server Platform, dedicated staging platform for customers with high dependency. Access is via SAS_NFS and WebDAV. You will need to have previously enrolled your IP before access. Access via the shell, rsync, webdav and SAS. Local Data Services accessible from the console.
EXCELCIOR (excelcior.gen.net.uk)
High Performance Data Services Platform for big data processing and services. Access is via your Data Services Console and/or via the hosting platform with programatic access.
