How to repair your Outlook Data Files

Firstly find the SCANPST.EXE repair tool which is usually found in
\Program Files(x86)\Microsoft Office\
or
\Program Files\Microsoft Office\
In a subfolder called Office14, Office15, Office16 or sometimes root\office14, etc. Once located run the tool by double clicking it.
Browse to the outlook data file in question, ending .OST or .PST and click START.
The process will take some time, and may need to be run more than once to completely repair the data file. Some items may be lost where the tool cannot repair the damage and for that reason its worth keeping the latest backup.
If the SCANPST.exe tool is unable to repair the PST file, then raise a ticket at the helpdesk and we'll remotely repair it if at all possible.
