Frequently Asked Question

SAS_NFS The how and the why
Last Updated 5 years ago

Secure Access Services provides a highly secure and auditable channel into our datacentres, but it also provides mountable storage by remote users. SYS_NFS is simply mountable access to your hosted services via NFS within the context of a SAS secure channel.

When setting up SAS_NFS you will be given a host name, a share name and will have enrolled your IP address into the system.

mount -t nfs 10.1.1.60:/data/webs/mysite.com /private/mysite

would be a typical command to mount remote storage to your local server or desktop. Remember to umount before closing your connection, and be aware that SAS sessions are not infinitely persistent. If you require NFS access in a persistent fashion then we would need to establish a secure bridge (talk to you account manager about this).
